Tripura, 7 July, 2025: The national highway passing through Panisagar town was finally cleared after nearly two hours of blockade by local traders. The protest, which began around 9:30 AM and continued until 11:30 AM, was organized in response to the long-standing poor condition of the road stretch from Chamtila to Panitila in Panisagar.
Despite repeated complaints to local leaders and the administration, no effective action had been taken, prompting the traders to stage a road blockade on the national highway.
Later, a representative from the Panisagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office, a DCM, arrived at the protest site and informed the demonstrators that the administration had already communicated with the concerned construction company responsible for the road. Subsequently, officials from the construction company also spoke with the protesters and assured them that road repair work would commence by July 12.
Following this assurance, the protesters lifted the blockade, allowing normal traffic movement to resume on the national highway.
