Manipur, July 4, 2025: In a major coordinated security operation, joint teams of Manipur Police, Assam Rifles, Indian Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) recovered a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from the hill districts of Manipur. The intelligence-based operations were carried out from the midnight of July 3 to the morning of July 4 across interior and suspected locations in Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel, and Churachandpur districts.
The operations were launched following credible intelligence inputs regarding the presence of illegal arms and warlike stores concealed in remote areas. The joint effort led to the seizure of a total of 203 weapons, alongside a significant quantity of ammunition and explosive materials.

INSAS Rifles – 21 AK Series Rifles – 11 Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs) – 26 Sniper Rifles – 2 Carbines – 3 .303 Rifles – 17 51 mm Mortars – 2 M79 Grenade Launchers – 3 Pompis – 38 Pistols (including country-made) – 9 Single-shot and bolt-action rifles – Multiple units
Recovered Ammunition and Explosives:
5.56 mm rounds – 29 7.62 mm rounds – 80 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) – 30 Hand Grenades – 10 Lathode and Pompi Shells – 11
This recovery marks one of the most significant seizures in recent months and reflects the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and security agencies to dismantle illegal arms networks and restore normalcy in violence-affected areas.
