Tripura, 20 May 2025: The Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) has officially acquired land, sheds, and fixed assets of 12 closed and abandoned industrial units located within the Bodhjungnagar and RK Nagar Industrial Complexes. These units had remained non-functional for an extended period, rendering valuable industrial land and infrastructure unused.
Due to the prolonged abandonment, TIDC was unable to allocate the land and sheds to new industrial ventures. Additionally, these 12 units collectively owed ₹6,39,02,48 in unpaid rent. Despite repeated demand notices, the unit owners failed to respond or clear the outstanding dues. In response, TIDC invoked provisions under the Tripura Public Premises Act to reclaim the land and structures.
The acquisition includes: Khumpui Global Services – 0.40 acre, BR Rabtech Industries – 1.00 acre, ATW Millennium Concept – 1 shed, Agartala Electrical LLP – 0.50 acre and 1 shed, Seemanta Handicraft Products Pvt. Ltd. – 2.00 acres, ARI Pavers Pvt. Ltd. – 0.50 acre, North East Solar Energy System LLP – 1 shed, Prime and Pure Food Industries – 2 sheds, Pro Rab Craft Pvt. Ltd. – 2.00 acres and an additional 1.06 acres (Moulded Rubber Goods Division), Inoculation Accessories NE Pvt. Ltd. – 1.00 acre, Jai Chandimata Cold Storage & Agencies Pvt. Ltd. – 2.00 acres In total, 11 acres of land and five sheds have been recovered for reuse.
According to an official press release from TIDC, the reclaimed properties will be reallocated in accordance with established norms to promote fresh industrial investments and generate employment in the state.
