Tripura, 12 May 2025: In a shocking incident in the Brajendranagar area under Madhupur Police Station, a youth attacked the local mosque’s Imam, severely injuring him. The accused, identified as Muslem Mia from the Matinagar area, reportedly entered the mosque on Sunday morning and launched a brutal assault on the Imam.
According to eyewitnesses, Muslem Mia physically assaulted the Imam and bit off a part of his ear. He also inflicted multiple injuries using a sharp weapon. Hearing the Imam’s cries for help, local residents rushed to the scene.
As the accused attempted to flee, locals apprehended him, tied him to a tree, and handed him over to Madhupur Police after detaining him.
The Imam has been taken for medical treatment, and police have started an investigation into the motive behind the attack.
