Tripura, 06 Nov 2026: In a breakthrough in a chain-snatching case, Bishalgarh Police have arrested another accused, identified as Kabir Hossain, in connection with the snatching of a woman’s gold chain from a moving scooty.
According to police, the incident was reported on September 16, 2026, following which Bishalgarh Police Station registered a case (Case No. 80/2026). The chain was allegedly snatched from a woman while she was travelling on a moving scooty.
Police had earlier arrested another accused, identified as Badal Hossain, in connection with the case. Acting on specific information, a police team conducted a raid on Friday and successfully apprehended the second accused, Kabir Hossain, son of late Nidhu Mia.
Speaking to the media, a police official confirmed the arrest and said that the investigation was underway. The police have not yet recovered the snatched chain.
The official further stated that the police would seek the accused’s remand and make efforts to recover the stolen chain.
