Agartala, 31 Oct 2026: A head-on collision between two cars took place at Bidurkarta Chowmuhani on the night of October 30, leaving one vehicle severely damaged. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the accident.
According to police, the accident involved a Maruti Suzuki Nexa Baleno and a Tata Punch. The Baleno was travelling from Colonel Chowmuhani towards Bidurkarta, while the Tata Punch was approaching from Badurtali towards Bidurkarta.
Following the collision, the Tata Punch allegedly fled the scene, while the Nexa Baleno sustained extensive damage. The impact was severe enough to trigger the car’s airbags.
West Agartala Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. According to a police officer, a number plate was recovered from the accident site, which is expected to assist investigators in identifying and tracing the vehicle that fled.
Police are making efforts to identify the other vehicle and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collision. No casualties or serious injuries were reported.
