Tripura, Oct 29, 2026: Ankit Kishore Sen, researcher, inventor, entrepreneur, Ex-Scientist and an IIT Delhi alumnus from Tripura, has played a key role in advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) skilling opportunities for Northeast youth through a collaboration between IHFC, IIT Delhi, and Directorate of Skill Development (DSD), Government of Tripura.
Through his initiative and sustained efforts, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two organisations in November 2025 to promote AI education and skill development among Tripura’s youth. The programme was inaugurated in February 2026, and several batches have since completed their training, with additional batches currently underway.
The collaboration has also opened pathways to professional exposure, with IHFC, IIT Delhi, extending internship offers to students from Tripura, helping connect regional talent with opportunities in technology and innovation.
For Sen, this initiative represents a step towards his broader vision of a Northeast AI Mission—an ambition to strengthen AI education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven opportunities across the region. His vision is to help build a stronger AI ecosystem in which young people from the Northeast can access emerging technologies, develop industry-relevant skills, and contribute to India’s growing AI landscape.
Sen expressed his gratitude to IHFC, IIT Delhi, and Skill Tripura, Government of Tripura, for their collaboration and support in advancing AI skilling and creating new opportunities for the youth of Tripura and the wider Northeast.
The initiative highlights the potential of collaboration between premier technology institutions and state governments to expand access to emerging technologies and create meaningful opportunities for regional talent.
