Agartala, Oct 14: Candidates awaiting recruitment to Fireman posts in the Tripura Fire Service Department on Wednesday submitted a fresh deputation to the authorities, demanding the immediate declaration of results and completion of the appointment process.
The aspirants warned that they would launch a larger agitation if their demands remained unaddressed.
According to the candidates, the department issued a recruitment notification in 2022 for Fireman and Driver posts, following which physical tests and written examinations were conducted as part of the selection process.
While the recruitment process for Driver posts has already been completed, the results for Fireman posts are yet to be declared, they alleged.
The candidates claimed that nearly four years had passed since the recruitment examinations were held, but the selection process for Fireman posts remained incomplete.
Expressing frustration over the prolonged delay, the aspirants urged the authorities to expedite the process and fill the vacant positions without further delay.
They said the uncertainty over the results had left candidates waiting for an outcome despite appearing for the prescribed examinations and completing the required selection procedures.
The aspirants also appealed to Chief Minister Manik Saha to intervene personally and direct the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to resolve the issue.
They urged the state government to clarify the status of the pending recruitment and announce a timeline for declaring the results and completing the appointments.
The candidates maintained that the delay had caused considerable frustration among job seekers who had been waiting for several years for the outcome of the selection process.
They also stressed that filling the vacant Fireman posts was important not only for candidates seeking employment but also for addressing manpower requirements in the Fire Service Department.
The aspirants said they hoped the authorities would consider their demands and take concrete steps to bring the recruitment process to a conclusion.
Warning of further protests, they said they would intensify their agitation if the department failed to respond to their demands or take steps to expedite the pending selection process.
The candidates called for an early resolution of the matter, maintaining that the recruitment process should be completed transparently and without further delay.
There was no immediate response from the department or the state government on the candidates’ demands.
