Tripura, 11 Oct 2026: In a major anti-narcotics operation, Kamalpur Police seized 34.7 kg of dried cannabis and detained five people during naka checking at Durga Chowmuhani. Two four-wheelers were also seized in connection with the case.
According to police sources, officers stopped and searched the two vehicles during the checking operation, leading to the recovery of the cannabis. Five people were detained on suspicion of involvement in the incident.


A case has been registered at Kamalpur Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The detained individuals are being questioned, and police are investigating whether others were involved in the alleged cannabis trafficking network.
Dhalai District Police stated that operations against drug-related activities would continue.
