Tripura, 11 Oct 2026: The Bir Bikram Ekta Camp–2026 (Special National Integration Camp–I), organised by the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC under the aegis of the Directorate General of NCC, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, concluded with a grand closing ceremony at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Narsinghar, Agartala.
Shri Kishor Barman, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Government of Tripura, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Brigadier Anand Raj Singh, Silchar Group Commander, was the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished dignitaries included Shri Animash Debbarma of the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Tripura; Colonel N. S. Baath, Commanding Officer of the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC; Vikas Malik, Administrative Officer of the battalion; the Officer-in-Charge of 71 Company; and the Principal of TIT, Narsinghar.

NCC officers, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), Permanent Instructor (PI) staff, and approximately 400 NCC cadets representing different regions of the country participated in the ceremony, reflecting the spirit of patriotism, unity and national integration.
The closing ceremony began with a ceremonial Guard of Honour, followed by a welcome address, the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the National Song. Vibrant cultural performances showcasing India’s diverse traditions, customs, music and dance added colour to the programme. The performances highlighted the country’s rich cultural heritage and reinforced the message of “Unity in Diversity”, promoting mutual respect, national harmony and cultural exchange among young people.
The major highlight of the ceremony was the announcement of the results of the National Integration Awareness Programme (NIAP) competition. The participating teams demonstrated their cultural talents, creativity, teamwork and commitment to strengthening national unity.

Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh jointly secured first position, followed by Gujarat in second place, while Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh jointly secured third position. The winning teams were congratulated for their outstanding performances and contributions towards promoting cultural understanding and national integration.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the organising battalion, camp staff and participating cadets in ensuring the successful conduct of the camp. They highlighted the important role of NCC training in developing discipline, leadership, teamwork, patriotism and a sense of responsibility among young citizens. The cadets were also encouraged to uphold the ideals of national integration and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress and development.
The Bir Bikram Ekta Camp–2026 provided a valuable platform for cadets from different states and regions to interact, exchange cultural experiences, build lasting friendships and gain a deeper understanding of India’s rich cultural diversity. The camp fostered camaraderie and brotherhood among participants while reinforcing the values of unity, mutual respect and collective responsibility.
The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a group photograph of the dignitaries, NCC officers, staff and participating cadets, marking the successful culmination of the national integration camp.
The successful completion of the camp reaffirmed the commitment of the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC to promote national unity, leadership, discipline and cultural harmony among the youth. The event also reinforced the NCC motto, “Unity and Discipline”, inspiring cadets to become responsible citizens and future leaders dedicated to nation-building.
