Tripura, 04 Oct 2026: A 12-year-old Class VII student was injured in a gunshot incident at Ram Bhadra under Nutan Bazar police station, creating tension in the area. The injured student, identified as Marhen Reang, is currently undergoing treatment at Gomati District Hospital.
According to reports, Marhen sustained a gunshot injury to his back. The bullet reportedly passed through his body and exited through the front of his abdomen. He was initially taken to Amarpur Sub-Divisional Hospital in a serious condition and was later shifted to Gomati District Hospital for further treatment.
However, the circumstances in which the boy was shot remain unclear. His family members have also reportedly been unable to provide a clear account of the incident.
Police have started an investigation to determine how and under what circumstances the Class VII student sustained the gunshot injury. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
