Agartala, September 20, 2026: The third edition of the Golden Run – City Marathon 2026, organised by Swarnakamal Jewellers, witnessed an impressive turnout of more than 5,000 participants from Tripura and several other states across India. Despite persistent rainfall, participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm, turning the event into a vibrant celebration of fitness, health and community spirit.
The 6-kilometre fun run began at Umakanta Academy Ground and concluded at Albert Ekka War Memorial Park in Agartala. Participants from various districts and cities of Tripura, along with runners from Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and several southern states, joined the marathon.
The event featured three categories Male, Female and Senior, providing an inclusive platform for participants across different age groups to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
The marathon was conducted under the guidance of the Tripura Athletics Association, which oversaw the sporting and competitive aspects of the event.
Despite challenging weather conditions, thousands of participants, particularly young people, gathered early in the morning and successfully completed the run. Their enthusiasm and determination added to the event’s energetic atmosphere.
To ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the marathon, the organisers made arrangements for medical assistance, ambulances, hydration facilities, route management and other essential services.
Founder Highlights the Importance of Fitness and Community Participation
Following the completion of the marathon and the prize distribution ceremony, Gopal Chandra Nag, Founder of Swarnakamal Jewellers, expressed his appreciation for the growing public response to the event.
Speaking about the initiative, he said:
