Tripura, Sep 19, 2026: A complaint has been submitted at Manu Police Station in Dhalai district against a person accused of allegedly circulating an edited video containing fabricated audio and inflammatory slogans involving the Tipra Motha Party.
According to the complaint, the accused has been identified as Prasenjit Chakma, a resident of Shibbari, Chowmani Bazar, under the Kamalcherra Mandal area.
The complainant, identified as Rupak Chakma, a member of the Tipra Motha Party’s Karamcherra Block Committee, alleged that a video featuring a rally with Tipra Motha flags was digitally manipulated to include provocative slogans targeting Chakma and Mog communities.
The complaint states that the video allegedly included slogans such as “Chakma go back,” “Mog go back,” and “Bangladeshi go back.” The complainant alleged that the circulation of the video could create communal and ethnic tension and damage the reputation of the political party.
Speaking to the media, the complainant said the video had gone viral approximately two days earlier. He urged the police to take action against the person allegedly responsible and called for the accused to be arrested within two days.
The complaint requests the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), an investigation into the video, and legal action under relevant provisions of law.
The complainant also stated that the Tipra Motha Party could consider further action if the police failed to respond within the requested timeframe.
