Agartala, 12 Sep 2026: Tension erupted near the Kasba–Kamalasagar area following the alleged killing of a woman in a knife attack while she was returning home from the Bhadra Mela.
The deceased has been identified as Sujita Das (28). According to allegations, Sujita and her husband were returning from the Kasba Bhadra Mela when her father-in-law, Sanjit Namo, and brother-in-law, Nayan Namo, allegedly appeared on the road.
It is alleged that the two attacked Sujita with a knife, leaving her critically injured. Her husband immediately took her to the hospital, where she was declared dead.
The incident has sparked tension in the area. Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack and determine the exact motive behind the killing.
