Tripura, 20 August 2026: One person was killed and another critically injured in a motorcycle accident in front of the Mohanbari TSR camp this afternoon, near the boundary of Khowai and West Tripura districts.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Joseph Justin, the victims were travelling towards Agartala when the accident occurred. One of them died, while the other sustained critical injuries and was referred to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala for treatment.
“The accident occurred in front of the Mohanbari TSR camp. We have received the information and efforts are underway to locate the vehicle involved,” Joseph Justin said.
He added that further details were being collected as part of the investigation.
Following the accident, local residents blocked the road at Mohanbari, leading to disruption of traffic. Police were deployed at the spot to control the situation and maintain law and order.
The identity of the deceased and injured person was not immediately available.
