Agartala: August 16. The Dhalai District Bodybuilders and Fitness Association will organise the Mr Dhalai Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2026 and Dhalai Classic Championship 2026 (Intra-State) at Ambassa Town Hall on August 22, 2026.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at Ambassa Town Hall today. Association president Sudip Chakraborty, secretary Biswajit Banik, treasurer Anirban Das and chief executive Sanjit Biswas were present.
The organisers said the event will be the first major bodybuilding and physique sports competition in Dhalai district. The championships are being organised to promote health awareness, discipline and sporting spirit among the youth.
The Mr Dhalai championship will feature Junior Bodybuilding and Senior Bodybuilding categories. The Dhalai Classic will be open to bodybuilding and fitness athletes from all eight districts of Tripura and will feature Junior Bodybuilding, Senior Bodybuilding and Men’s Physique categories.
The competitions are recognised by the Tripura Bodybuilders and Fitness Association and the Indian Bodybuilders Federation. Athletes selected through the Mr Dhalai championship will represent Dhalai district at the Mr Tripura competition scheduled to be held in Agartala in December 2026.
Winners, runners-up and third-place finishers in both competitions will receive gold, silver and bronze medals, along with trophies and certificates. A total prize money of Rs 90,000 will also be awarded to the top three performers.
Participants will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 400 per category.
The organisers expect the event to draw athletes, coaches and sports enthusiasts from across the state, turning Ambassa Town Hall into a major bodybuilding and fitness sporting venue.
