Tripura, 13 August 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the “Sanjog E-Cart” initiative at Dolugaon under Chandipur RD Block in Unakoti district, marking a significant step towards strengthening market access for products made by Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
The initiative has been launched by the District Mission Management Unit (DMMU), Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), Unakoti, with the aim of connecting rural women entrepreneurs directly with consumers and expanding the reach of locally produced goods.

The Sanjog E-Carts will provide SHG members with mobile vending platforms to showcase and sell their products at local markets, high-footfall areas and community events across the district.
For years, women associated with SHGs have been producing a wide range of handcrafted and locally sourced products. However, limited access to suitable markets has remained a major challenge. The new initiative is expected to address this gap by providing a more visible and accessible platform for direct sales.
The mobile carts will also help SHG members reduce dependence on middlemen, potentially improving their earnings while increasing the visibility and recognition of locally made products.
The launch reflects the state government’s focus on promoting grassroots entrepreneurship, women’s economic empowerment and sustainable rural livelihoods. The initiative is expected to encourage more women to transform their traditional skills and vocational activities into sustainable micro-enterprises.
With the Sanjog E-Carts now set to operate across Unakoti, the initiative is expected to give a fresh boost to SHG-led businesses and strengthen the rural economy through direct market access.
