Three Students Injured in Hornet Attack at Khowai Government Higher Secondary School; Parents Say They Warned Authorities a Month Ago
Tripura, 31 July 2026: Three students of the primary section at Khowai Government Higher Secondary School were injured after being attacked by hornets on the school premises, triggering concern among parents and staff.
The injured students received first aid following the incident, officials said.
Parents alleged that they had informed the school authorities about a hornets’ nest inside the school building nearly a month ago, warning that it posed a serious risk to students. However, they claim that no effective action was taken, ultimately leading to the incident.
They questioned why the potential danger was not addressed despite repeated warnings.
Responding to the allegations, the school authorities said they had been making efforts to remove the hornets’ nest. However, they maintained that the nest could not be removed immediately due to safety concerns and the need for assistance from the concerned department.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over student safety on the school campus. Parents have demanded the immediate removal of the hornets’ nest and stronger safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
