Agartala/New Delhi, July 13: Former Tripura Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has fulfilled his promise to support the advanced medical treatment of young Monshree, ensuring that the child receives expert consultation at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
As part of the assistance assured by the MP, Monshree was taken to Delhi on Sunday for specialised treatment. Acting on Deb’s instructions, his offices in Agartala and New Delhi remained in constant touch with the child’s family and coordinated all necessary arrangements for her medical consultation at AIIMS.
According to sources close to the MP, Biplab Kumar Deb had already taken up the matter with the Union Ministry of Health to explore possible medical assistance for the child. He had also spoken in advance with renowned specialist Dr. Shefali Gulati, seeking her support for Monshree’s treatment.
Monshree’s father, Dhruva Choudhury, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MP after the medical consultation at AIIMS. He said that despite being on emergency leave, Dr. Shefali Gulati examined Monshree following Deb’s request. He added that a five-member medical team from AIIMS, led by Dr. Gulati, carried out a detailed evaluation of the child’s health condition and recommended the next course of treatment.
According to the family, the future treatment plan will be finalised after doctors examine the detailed medical reports prepared following the evaluation. Monshree’s father also said that the AIIMS medical team has informed MP Biplab Kumar Deb about the child’s present health condition and the proposed line of treatment.
To ensure the family faced no inconvenience in Delhi, a representative from the MP’s Delhi office personally accompanied them from Tripura Bhavan to AIIMS and assisted them throughout the hospital visit, including administrative formalities and coordination with hospital authorities.
Dhruva Choudhury further revealed that the appointment at AIIMS was advanced following the intervention of MP Biplab Kumar Deb, enabling the child to receive specialist attention much earlier than scheduled.
The family is expected to meet the doctors again on Friday for further consultations. A comprehensive treatment roadmap will be prepared after the AIIMS specialists review the medical reports and assess Monshree’s condition, paving the way for the next phase of her advanced treatment.
