Agartala, July 10: The two-day Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, organised to promote a business-friendly environment, deregulation and ease of doing business, concluded successfully on Friday with investment proposals worth more than ₹1 lakh crore.
The valedictory session was attended by Keshav Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India; J. K. Sinha, Chief Secretary of Tripura; Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Industries & Commerce Department; Abhishek Singh, Secretary of the Rural Development and Power Departments; along with industrialists, investors and senior government officials.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha said the overwhelming response from industry leaders reflected growing confidence in Tripura’s investment potential. He announced that the state had already received investment proposals exceeding ₹1 lakh crore during the conclave. Assuring full support from the government, he said Tripura would provide all necessary assistance for setting up industries and highlighted the state’s rapid economic progress, noting that economic reforms had expanded nearly tenfold over the past two years.
Special Secretary Keshav Kumar Pathak praised the Tripura Government for implementing major administrative reforms and deregulation measures within just three months. He said the “Tripura Model” is now being recognised by several states as a benchmark for governance reforms and ease of doing business.
Industries & Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte said administrative procedures had become more transparent and investor-friendly. He invited industry stakeholders to submit constructive suggestions ahead of the third phase of deregulation, scheduled to begin in 2027.
During the second session, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Industries & Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte, V. Anantha Nageswaran, and Finance Secretary P. K. Goyal discussed Tripura’s economic growth, investment opportunities and industrial policies. Power Secretary Abhishek Singh delivered the welcome address.
One of the key highlights of the conclave was the signing of multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between government departments and private organisations. Departments including Industries & Commerce, Animal Resources Development, Horticulture, Higher Education, School Education, Tourism, Fisheries, Transport, Science & Technology, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Power and Information Technology entered into agreements with various organisations.
The Information Technology Department signed significant MoUs with Google India, IIT Kharagpur, and ICT Academy to strengthen digital infrastructure, innovation and skill development in the state.
The conclave concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Dipak Kumar, Director of the Industries & Commerce Department, who expressed gratitude to investors, industry representatives, government officials and participants. He said the event would play a significant role in establishing Tripura as one of India’s leading investment destinations.
