Agartala: Jul 01. MLA Ranjit Debbarma has urged Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to approve the construction of a new Baijalbari Police Station complex at Sankhola under Khowai Sub-Division, citing the need for proper infrastructure to ensure efficient policing.
In a letter submitted to the Chief Minister, the legislator said the Baijalbari Out Post has already been upgraded to a full-fledged police station but is currently functioning from the Baijalbari Primary Health Centre building under the Health Department. He stated that operating the police station from the health facility has created operational difficulties.
DebBarma requested the government to take up the construction of a dedicated police station complex on a priority basis. The proposed project includes an administrative building, officers’ quarters, barracks for constables and other essential infrastructure.
The MLA also informed the Chief Minister that sufficient government khas land is available at Sankhola for the proposed construction and sought immediate steps for early execution of the project.
