Agartala, June 9: The Tripura Web Media Forum has submitted a memorandum to Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, seeking intervention for the protection of the interests of news portals and the overall development of digital journalism in the state.
A delegation of the forum met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and handed over the memorandum outlining several demands aimed at strengthening the digital media sector in Tripura. The organization, which comprises editors, journalists, photographers and sports journalists, also conveyed its best wishes for the Governor’s good health and urged his support for the growth and recognition of web-based journalism.
According to the forum, the memorandum primarily highlights three key demands concerning the welfare and advancement of digital media professionals and news portals operating in the state.
Representing the Tripura Web Media Forum during the meeting were General Secretary Abhishek De, President Bapi Roy, along with members Hirak Gupta, Shantanu Biswas, Deepjit Acharya and Gautam Ghosh.
The forum expressed hope that the Governor would consider the demands sympathetically and take positive steps to support the growth and professional development of digital news media in Tripura.
