Agartala: Apr 23. A crucial hearing on the alleged illegal construction of a market shed over a river in Boxanagar will be held tomorrow at the Sepahijala District Magistrate’s court.
District Magistrate Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal is expected to personally preside over the hearing scheduled at 11 am. Four individuals accused of carrying out the construction are likely to appear with their legal representatives.
The issue dates back to an order issued four months ago by Sonamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate Raju Deb, directing demolition of the structure and clearance of government land. However, the order was allegedly not implemented.
The matter was later raised in the Assembly by Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jitendra Chaudhury, following which Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha stated that the construction was illegal and directed necessary action.
