Agartala, April 19: Senior RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled for a brief but significant visit to Tripura later this week, with April 20 marked as his arrival date in Agartala. His primary engagement will take place the next morning at Mohanpur, where he is expected to participate in a temple inauguration and pran pratishtha ceremony at Chinmaya Mission School.
Sources indicate that the visit will largely revolve around religious and organisational activities, with a possible stop at Seva Dham Ashram also on the agenda. While preparations are already underway, authorities and organisers are yet to release an official programme outlining his full schedule.
Coming soon after the recently concluded Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, the visit is being closely watched in political circles. The presence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief is seen as important in the context of ongoing organisational consolidation in the state.
There are also indications that Bhagwat may meet Pradyot Manikya Debbarma during his stay. The discussion, if it takes place, is expected to touch upon political developments and future alignments, although no formal confirmation has been issued so far.
Officials associated with the arrangements said coordination is in progress at multiple levels to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit, even as the final itinerary remains under wraps.
