Agartala, April 14: Three persons were seriously injured after a car lost control while trying to avoid a stray dog on National Highway-8 in Tripura’s Santirbazar sub-division on Tuesday.
According to officials, the Maruti car bearing registration number- (TR-08-D-0310) veered off the road at Bir Chandra Manu Lachi area when the driver attempted to save a dog that suddenly came onto the highway.
The injured have been identified as Sikandar Badsha (53), Indrajit Baidya (52) and Alokjyoti Baidya (32). All three were rescued by fire service personnel and shifted to Santirbazar District Hospital for treatment.
Police from Manpathar police station, led by Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Das, reached the spot soon after the incident and recovered the damaged vehicle.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
