Dharmanagar, Apr 04. A special screening camp under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) was conducted in Panisagar Sub-Divisional Health Centre, where a total of 81 children underwent health check-ups.
The camp identified several health concerns, including skin diseases, respiratory infections, and dental problems among the children.
The screening was held at Harijan Colony Anganwadi Centre and Bilthai B.H. Colony JB School, in the presence of Anganwadi workers and the school headmaster. RBSK team doctor Dr. Abhinav Dhar led the medical examinations. According to officials, two children were diagnosed with skin diseases, three with acute respiratory infections (ARI), and three with dental issues. All identified cases have been referred to higher health institutions for further treatment.
During the camp, awareness sessions were also conducted on personal hygiene, anemia, and the importance of deworming. Parents and children were educated about early symptoms of diseases and the need for timely medical intervention.
Nutritious food was distributed among the children after the health check-up to promote better nutrition and overall well-being.
Dr. Dhar stated that the primary objective of the RBSK programme is to identify health risks in children from birth to 18 years at an early stage and ensure timely treatment. Health officials emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in early diagnosis and improving child health outcomes.
The programme witnessed active participation from local administration, healthcare workers, teachers, and parents, making it a significant step toward strengthening child healthcare in the region.
