Agartala, 30 Dec 2025: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) will complete 50 years of its establishment next year. The Board was formally constituted on January 1, 1976. To mark the golden jubilee, a grand commemorative programme will be organised on January 1, 2026, at Nazrul Kalakshetra, Agartala. The programme will begin at 11:00 am.
Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha will inaugurate the golden jubilee celebration organised by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education. Swami Bhavikshananda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math (Vivekananda Ashram) will be present as the honoured guest, while Special Secretary of the Education Department Ravel Hemendra Kumar will attend as a distinguished guest. The programme will be presided over by TBSE President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Choudhury.
These details were shared by Dr. Dhananjay Gan Choudhury during a press conference held today at the office of the TBSE President. He recalled that when the Board was formed in 1976, the then Chief Minister was the late Sudhir Ranjan Majumder and the Education Minister was the late Shailesh Saha. He said that many individuals associated with the Board have gone on to establish themselves in various fields and have brought recognition to Tripura across the world.
As part of the golden jubilee celebrations, a blood donation camp was organised yesterday under the initiative of the Board. The camp was inaugurated by Tripura Legislative Assembly Chief Whip and Government MLA Kalyani Saha Roy, and 22 donors participated in the camp.
Speaking at the press conference, TBSE Secretary Dr. Jaydip Bhattacharya informed that during the golden jubilee programme at Nazrul Kalakshetra, meritorious students who secured first and second positions in the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary final examinations in the years 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 will be awarded the Prayata Indira Bhattacharya Award. A total of 23 meritorious students will receive the award.
He said that the late Indira Bhattacharya was a senior teacher who passed away on June 11, 1986. After her demise, her parents donated ₹20 lakh to the Board to facilitate awards for meritorious students.
It was also informed that a commemorative souvenir will be published by the Board on the occasion of the golden jubilee. The TBSE President and Secretary have extended an open invitation to all to attend the golden jubilee celebration at Nazrul Kalakshetra.
