Agartala: Dec 30. An AYUSH Health Camp along with a health awareness programme was successfully organised at the Anganwadi Centre of Ward No. 5, South Huruya, under the initiative of Sanicherra Primary Health Centre in North Tripura district. The camp aimed to deliver improved healthcare services to rural residents and promote health awareness among the local population.
The camp witnessed strong participation from villagers, with free health check-ups and medicines provided to patients, giving special attention to senior citizens and children.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of Sanicherra PHC. Dr. Moutusi Debbarma attended as the chief medical officer, patiently listening to patients’ health issues and offering necessary medical advice. MPW Biswajit Ghosh played a key role in managing the overall arrangements, while six ASHA workers from the area actively assisted in patient care and maintaining order throughout the camp.
Several pathological tests were conducted free of cost, including: Hemoglobin Test to detect anemia; Random Blood Sugar (RBS) test to check diabetes levels; Blood Pressure Check to identify hypertension-related issues.
Based on test results, patients were given required medicines free of charge.
Alongside medical services, a health awareness session was organised where Dr. Debbarma and health workers addressed key public health concerns. Discussions focused on anemia prevention especially among pregnant women and adolescent girls along with guidance on proper nutrition. Preventive measures against dengue were highlighted, stressing cleanliness and prevention of stagnant water. Importance was also given to personal hygiene, including regular handwashing and maintaining cleanliness as basic steps towards good health.
