Agartala: Dec 29. Under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Project, a one-day training programme on e-rickshaw driving and solar installation for women was held on Monday in North Tripura district, aiming to promote women’s employment and self-reliance.
The programme was organised by the district administration at the Circuit House conference hall. Minister Santana Chakma attended the event as the chief guest. Also present were District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, District Sabhadhipati Arpana Nath, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen, District Skill Development Officer Dipankar Biswas, and other senior officials.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Santana Chakma highlighted various welfare and skill development initiatives of the state government. She stressed that e-rickshaw driving training is opening new livelihood opportunities for women, while solar installation training is encouraging their participation in the renewable energy sector.
Women beneficiaries and members of the public from different parts of the district attended the programme. The event witnessed an enthusiastic and positive atmosphere, with trainees expressing hope and confidence about future employment prospects.
