Agartala, 29 Dec 2025: Tipra Motha founder and Tripura royal scion Pradyot Manikya Debbarma has strongly criticised the Uttarakhand government over the reported announcement of a ₹25,000 reward for information related to the killing of Anjel Chakma, calling it an insult to the value of human life.
In a sharp message addressed to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Pradyot Manikya said he was shocked to learn that such a small amount had been declared as a reward for information about the accused.
“₹25,000 is this the value of Anjel Chakma’s life? This has become a joke. Please do not make fun of our people,” he said.
Expressing his anguish and anger, the Tripura leader announced that he would personally offer a much higher reward to ensure justice.
“If any person provides credible information about who killed Anjel Chakma and where the accused is hiding, I will give ₹10 lakh from my own pocket,” he declared.
Pradyot Manikya stressed that justice should not be trivialised and urged the authorities to treat the case with the seriousness it deserves. His statement has resonated strongly across social media and among Indigenous communities, intensifying demands for a thorough and impartial investigation into the killing of Anjel Chakma.
