Tripura, 23 Dec 2025: Two persons were injured after a 12-wheeler goods lorry met with a serious accident on Tuesday afternoon at the Lakshanchhara area under Pecharthal.
According to reports, the lorry bearing registration number AS-01-DD-4226 was travelling from Kumarghat towards Panisagar when it lost control while passing over a culvert and fell dangerously, triggering panic in the area.
The injured have been identified as the driver Akhil Debnath (above 50 years) and co-driver Amit Debnath (28), both residents of the Padmabil area in North Tripura district. Fortunately, both narrowly escaped with injuries.
On receiving information, fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot, rescued the injured, and shifted them to the Pecharthal Primary Health Centre for treatment.
Following the incident, Sudambika R, along with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Kumarghat, the Officer-in-Charge of Pecharthal Police Station, and personnel from Tripura State Rifles (TSR), visited the accident site and conducted a spot inspection.
