Tripura, 23 Dec 2025: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday inaugurated a state-of-the-art dental clinic established jointly by Ramkrishna Mission and Agartala Rotary Club. Speaking at the programme, the Chief Minister emphasized that true progress in life is achieved when modernity goes hand in hand with spirituality. He said being modern does not mean blindly imitating Western culture; rather, Indian culture can be embraced while remaining progressive.

Referring to the contribution of Ramkrishna Mission, Dr. Saha said the institution has been serving humanity selflessly for decades in the fields of education, healthcare and social welfare. Through the newly inaugurated dental clinic, people will now have access to quality treatment for various dental problems.
The Chief Minister also paid floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda at the Ramkrishna Mission School campus and formally inaugurated the dental clinic by cutting the ribbon. He noted that Ramkrishna Mission has played a significant role in spreading education among students, including those from remote areas.
Dr. Saha stated that between 2022 and 2025, Ramkrishna Mission received several recognitions for its outstanding work — 14 awards at the state level, 3 at the regional level, 26 at the national level and 4 at the international level. He added that the state government has extended support for the development of infrastructure, including the ITI centre run by Ramkrishna Mission.
The dental clinic has been set up at a cost of around ₹60 lakh. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the initiative would serve the people effectively. He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has undertaken multiple initiatives to ensure dignity and a better quality of life for the poorest sections of society, and the state government is working in line with that vision to build a “New Tripura”.
During the programme, speeches were also delivered by Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Agartala Rotary Club President Dr. Sanjoy Dutta, District Magistrate Dr. Kunal Pathak, and Ramkrishna Mission Secretary Swami Shubhakarananda Maharaj. Former Justice J.S.C. Dasa delivered a vote of thanks.
Several dignitaries, including the Principal of Agartala Government Dental College Dr. Shalu Roy and AGMC Principal Dr. Anup Kumar Saha, were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister also felicitated two individuals for their special contributions to society in association with Ramkrishna Mission.
