Agartala: Dec 18. A mega blood donation camp was organised at Radhakishorepur Police Station here this morning at 10 am to mark Shyama Puja. The camp was formally inaugurated by Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar.
As many as 100 people voluntarily donated blood at the camp, showcasing strong public participation in the initiative.
Superintendent of Police Dr Kiran Kumar K, Radhakishorepur Police Station OC Sanjib Laskar, and other police officials were present at the event. The DGP was accorded a guard of honour on his arrival and later visited the blood donation camp.
Following the camp, winter clothes were distributed among 35 children of Khilpara Balak Shishu Niketan by the DGP.
Addressing the gathering, DGP Anurag Dhankar praised the police station’s initiative of organising a blood donation camp along with winter clothing distribution during Shyama Puja. He said such programmes highlighted the strong bond between the police and the general public in Udaipur, made possible through the joint efforts of the district SP, the OC, and police personnel.
The DGP further stated that crime in the state has remained below 10 percent till November. While the number of cases has increased, the police are continuously working across the state to curb crime and intensify anti-drug operations. He stressed that societal change is possible only with active public cooperation and support for the police.
After the programme, the DGP visited the Maa Tripureswari Temple at Matabari to offer prayers and later left for Agartala around 1 pm. Meanwhile, heavy police activity was observed at Radhakishorepur Police Station in connection with Shyama Puja.
