Tripura, 15 Dec 2025: The incident took place in the Kamalasagar Miapara area under Madhupur Police Station. According to the case details, around 3 PM on Sunday, Russell Mia, son of Rizik Mia from Miapara, lured a nine-year-old girl from the neighborhood to his house with promises of love and then raped her. Initially, the girl could not speak about it, but later, when she became severely distressed, she revealed the incident to her parents.
Subsequently, the girl’s parents filed a rape case against Russell Mia at Madhupur Police Station around 4 PM on Sunday. Later, a large police team led by Madhupur Police Station’s Second Officer Chittaranjan Reang went to Russell Mia’s house and arrested him.
It is known that Russell Mia is a married man, yet he lured the nine-year-old girl with various temptations and raped her on Sunday. Meanwhile, Madhupur Police Station’s Second Officer Chittaranjan Reang stated that after taking up the rape case, they were able to arrest the youth under the POCSO Act. He will be produced before the Magistrate Court today.
On the other hand, the accused’s mother has directly claimed that her son has been deliberately framed and is not involved in the crime. Now, it remains to be seen how much truth emerges from the police investigation and medical examination in light of the allegations.
