Tripura, 13 Dec 2025: In a continued drive to build a drug-free society, Mungiakami Police have once again achieved significant success in their anti-narcotics अभियान. On Saturday morning, police seized around 52 kilograms of illegal ganja during a naka checking operation at the 41 Mile point on the Assam–Agartala National Highway. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth over ₹10 lakh in the illicit market.
According to details, acting on specific intelligence inputs, personnel of Mungiakami Police identified a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number AS-01-MA-8228 as suspicious and intercepted it at the 41 Mile naka point. Upon receiving information, Teliamura Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rohan Kisan, IPS, rushed to the spot.

A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 52 kg of ganja, which had been cleverly concealed in hidden compartments. In connection with the seizure, two persons were detained for their alleged involvement in the smuggling operation.
Speaking to the media, SDPO Rohan Kisan stated that the detained individuals were primarily acting as carriers. He added that an investigation has already been launched to identify and trace the masterminds behind the trafficking network. He further asserted that such anti-drug operations will be intensified in the coming days as part of the police’s sustained crackdown on narcotics.
The successful operation has been widely appreciated by the general public, who expressed relief and satisfaction. The seizure clearly underscores the administration’s zero-tolerance stance against drug trafficking, sending a strong warning to those involved in the illegal trade.
