Tripura, 10 Dec 2025: The Khowai District Red Cross Society extended a helping hand to an impoverished family whose house was completely gutted in a devastating fire in the Samatal Padmabil area.
The incident occurred two days ago near Hatkata Bazar under Samatal Padmabil Gram Panchayat in Khowai district, where the residence of Alin Shukla Baidya was reduced to ashes. Owing to the dry season, the fire spread rapidly within moments, engulfing the entire house. Household crops freshly brought in from the fields, valuable belongings, and cash kept inside the house were all destroyed in the blaze.
On Wednesday, the Khowai District Red Cross Society visited the fire-affected household and provided essential furniture and relief materials to the family as part of its humanitarian assistance.
Prominent social worker of Khowai district Binoy Debbarma, Red Cross Society Chairman Kanai Shil, Jayanta Kumar Saha, along with other members of the Red Cross Society, were present during the relief distribution.
The initiative has brought some relief to the distressed family, even as the incident has left the local community deeply affected.
