Agartala, 10 Dec 2025: Manishankar Murasingh’s name has finally appeared in the IPL auction list, reinforcing the belief that consistent performance never goes unnoticed. The left-arm spinner, who delivered an impressive performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 by picking up 20 wickets, has been included in the IPL auction with a base price of ₹30 lakh. The auction will be held on December 16.
Earlier, Murasingh’s name was missing from the initial shortlist released by the IPL authorities, which featured 1,090 cricketers from India and abroad. From this pool, the BCCI shortlisted 350 players. Later, on Monday night, nine more players were added to the final list, and Manishankar Murasingh was among them.

Cricket experts feel that, similar to Kartikeya Singh, Murasingh’s consistent wicket-taking ability against strong opponents has caught the attention of selectors and IPL franchise scouts. His performances have forced decision-makers to take a closer look.
Sources reveal that Murasingh’s name was recommended by multiple franchises for inclusion in the auction list. Since the inception of the IPL in 2008, very few players from Tripura have had the opportunity to feature in the league, making this a significant moment for the state’s cricket fraternity.
There is growing optimism that Murasingh could finally secure an IPL contract. His recognition is no longer confined to local cricket circles; he is now gaining attention at the national level, with several leading dailies highlighting his journey and questioning his prolonged absence from the IPL stage.
In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Murasingh has taken 20 wickets, maintaining an economy rate of around 7.6 — a remarkable achievement in the T20 format. His strong showing has virtually cleared the path to the IPL auction.
With his name officially included at a ₹30 lakh base price, all eyes in Tripura will be on the December 16 IPL auction, as fans eagerly wait to see whether Manishankar Murasingh finally gets his long-awaited IPL breakthrough.
