Agartala, Dec 8: ABVP National Secretary Kamlesh Singh on Sunday said that the Gen Z of the country is moving closer to the ideology of “Rashtravad” (nationalism), as reflected in the organisation’s growing success across educational institutions nationwide.
He said ABVP has recorded major victories in student bodies in almost every state, including Assam University and Panjab University. According to him, this trend shows that the younger generation is connecting with ABVP’s ideas and vision.
Singh was addressing a press conference at the ABVP state office in Dhaleswar, Agartala. He informed that around one lakh students joined ABVP in Tripura in 2025, which, he said, highlights the steady rise of the organisation in the state. The press conference was attended by ABVP Tripura State Secretary Gaurab Das and other leaders.
Sharing the outcomes of the 71st ABVP National Convention held in Dehradun from November 28 to 30, Singh said the organisation adopted important resolutions on education reform, student welfare, national security, social unity, and environmental protection.
On the issue of illegal immigration, Singh said ABVP strongly supports the PAN India Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. He reiterated the demand for a strict “Detect–Delete–Deport” policy. He also praised the Assam government for taking action against illegal settlements and stressed that complete fencing of the international border is necessary.
Speaking on the closure of government schools due to teacher shortages, Singh said ABVP does not support shutting down schools. He said schools play an important role in society and should be strengthened with teachers and basic facilities instead of being closed.
He also spoke on the need for social harmony, protection of the environment, and active participation of youth in nation-building. Singh said ABVP will continue to work among students to build a strong, united, and self-reliant India.
