Tripura, 6 Dec 2025: Tripura’s student delegation delivered an impressive performance at the National Cultural & Literary Festival, Kala Utsav & Summit 2025, held in Andhra Pradesh from 3 to 6 December. The national event was organised by the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APTWREIS).
The festival brought together participants from 25 states and Union Territories, highlighting India’s rich tribal heritage and cultural diversity. Students engaged in a series of competitive and non-competitive events, including traditional and contemporary dance, music, craftwork, elocution, debate, and quiz.
Tripura was represented by a 45-member student contingent from 12 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) under the Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS). Their participation showcased the distinct cultural expressions of the state’s Indigenous communities.

Indigenous Folk Song (Group) – Senior Category: 1st Place Indigenous Flute – Senior Boys: 2nd Place Wood/Leaf Art – Senior Girls: 2nd Place Indigenous Folk Song (Solo) – Senior Girls: 3rd Place Quiz Competition – Senior Category: 3rd Place Hindi Elocution – Senior Girls: 3rd Place Indigenous Creative Dance – Junior Category: 3rd Place
Officials from NESTS and APTWREIS praised Tripura’s contingent for their cultural depth, disciplined representation, and commendable performances across diverse categories. The state’s achievements reflect the growing participation and talent emerging from tribal residential schools.
