Agartala, Dec 06: Following a series of fatal bike accidents in the subdivision, the Shantirbazar Police on Friday launched a sudden special traffic enforcement drive in presence of South District Superintendent of Police Muarakrishna, IPS.
The drive was conducted to curb rising cases of rash driving, high-speed riding, dangerous overtaking, riding without helmets, driving without seatbelts and drunk driving, which have been identified as the main causes behind recent accidents. Addressing the media, SP Muarakrishna appealed to the public to strictly follow traffic rules and avoid unnecessary travel during foggy winter nights to prevent accidents and loss of lives.
