Tripura, 21 Oct 2025: A massive search operation was carried out inside a pond in a deep forest area by the Fire and Emergency Services and the Disaster Management team, following suspicion of a dead body. The incident took place this afternoon at Palpara area under Dhalabil Gram Panchayat in Khowai.
According to reports, early in the morning, the owner of a local rubber plantation went to his garden to collect latex. Nearby, he noticed a pond and saw a bicycle parked on the bank, along with a pair of shoes floating in the water. Suspecting that someone might have drowned, he immediately informed Khowai Police.
Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and, after initial investigation, called in the Fire Service and Disaster Management teams. The teams conducted a thorough search of the pond for nearly two hours but failed to recover any body.
