Bangladesh/Agartala, Sept 28: Tripura royal scion and TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has strongly condemned the alleged killing of four indigenous people by Bangladesh Army personnel in the Guimara area of Khagrachari district, located in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
An indigenous village was also set on fire allegedly under the patronage of the Bangladesh interim government led by Md. Yunus
In a post on X, Royal Scion Pradyot expressed outrage, stating that the Bangladesh Army not only carried out the killings but also permitted radical groups to ransack and illegally occupy land belonging to indigenous communities in the Khagracheri region.

The brutality has drawn wider concern after reports surfaced of a young indigenous Marma girl in Singinala, Khagrachari, who was allegedly raped by miscreants. When she sought justice and pleaded with her father for protection, she was shot dead by Bangladesh Army personnel. “She was asking her father to save her life. She is no more,” a local witness said.

Royal Scion Pradyot has called upon the international community and human rights organizations to intervene immediately, stressing that the ongoing violence, sexual assaults, and land grabbing threaten the very survival and dignity of the indigenous people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
