Tripura, Sept 22: Police detained seven Bangladeshi nationals near the Asharam Bari international border area in Khowai district on Sunday evening.
According to police sources, at around 7 PM, an auto-rickshaw coming from Asharam Bari towards Khowai was intercepted at Sombaira Bazar. Upon questioning the seven passengers, police discovered that they were Bangladeshi nationals who had allegedly crossed the international border illegally and were heading towards Agartala.
The detainees were taken to Champahour Police Station for interrogation. Police have confirmed that legal action will be initiated against them as per law.
