Agartala, Sept 19: The Tripura Legislative Assembly today expressed deep condolence over the killing of 26 people, including 25 tourists, in the Pahalgam massacre and the tragic crash of an Air India flight bound for London.
Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal mentioned both incidents in the House, paying homage to the departed souls, extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families, and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
On April 22, terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran forest in Pahalgam, a scenic spot in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, killing 26 people. The Assembly described the incident as a heinous assault on civilization, humanity, and India’s sovereignty and secular values, while strongly condemning the barbaric act of Pakistan-backed terrorists.
In another tragedy, on June 12, an Air India aircraft bound for London crashed at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, killing 241 passengers along with 39 others in the surrounding area. The Assembly today paid tribute to the victims and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
