Agartala, Sept 19: In a bid to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of Tripura, the state government has introduced a new advanced endoscopy machine (CV-190 system) at the Super Specialty Block of Agartala Government Medical College & GB Pant Hospital. The machine was formally commissioned on September 18 and patient examinations have already begun.
The CV-190 endoscopy system offers high-quality imaging and advanced video processing, enabling doctors to easily identify diagnostic features. It can differentiate between blood vessels, mucosa, and membranes, ensuring faster and more accurate detection of medical conditions.
Until now, endoscopies at GB Pant Hospital were conducted using the CV-150 and CV-170 models. With the installation of this upgraded machine valued at over ₹50 lakh patients will now benefit from more precise and efficient examinations.
On its very first day of operation, doctors performed 14 upper endoscopies and 2 colonoscopies (lower endoscopies).
Notably, only a handful of hospitals in the Northeast around five currently possess such advanced equipment. With its addition at AGMC & GBP Hospital, patients in Tripura will no longer need to travel outside the state to access such facilities.
