Tripura, Sept 17: As part of Vishwakarma Puja celebrations, the 2nd Battalion of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) at R.K. Nagar camp observed the traditional Astra Puja on Wednesday. After offering prayers to Lord Vishwakarma, TSR jawans performed rituals for their weapons and prayed for their proper use in times of need.
Speaking on the occasion, a TSR officer said, “We organise this puja every year on Vishwakarma Puja because our weapons are vital to our duty and the country’s security. We give special priority to weapon worship on this day and pray to the deity that our arms always remain in good condition and never fail when required.”
A 2nd Battalion jawan added, “Every year we perform this ritual for the weapons we use in our duty. We pray to God that in times of danger or crisis, these weapons serve their purpose and protect us.”
The camp priest noted that the tradition has been carried out for many years. “On behalf of the 2nd Battalion TSR, we conduct this joint puja every year for the welfare of all and to seek blessings for the weapons as well as the jawans who use them,” he said.
