Agartala, September 1, 2025: Tripura’s only state-run fine arts institution, the Government College of Art & Craft, Agartala, is set to step into its golden jubilee year on September 9, 2025, marking 50 years of its establishment.
The institution holds a special place in the history of art education in Tripura and across the country. Since its inception, the college has overcome numerous challenges and milestones, nurturing generations of artists who have contributed significantly to the cultural landscape.
With the approval of the Department of Higher Education, the golden jubilee celebrations will be observed with due importance and grandeur. Beginning on September 9, 2025, the founding day of the college, a series of year-long programmes have been planned, continuing until September 9, 2026.
The inaugural ceremony will take place on September 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lichubagan campus of the college, in the presence of the Chief Minister of Tripura, the Higher Education Minister, and other distinguished guests.
Ahead of the celebrations, the college will host a press conference on September 2, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Agartala Press Club to brief the media about the golden jubilee programme. Organizers have called upon media houses across the state to extend their support in highlighting this milestone event to a wider audience.
The Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee expressed confidence that the participation of the media and the people of Tripura will make this historic occasion a grand success.
