Tripura, 14 April 2025: The youth must be protected from the deadly grip of addiction, said Cooperative Minister Sukla Charan Noatia. He emphasized that this cannot be achieved by the state government alone every section of society must come forward and contribute to the cause. The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the state-level Boisu Festival organized by Bru Socio Organization at the Ratanmoni Ashram School ground in Kanchanpur subdivision on 13 April.

He stated that culture is a powerful weapon in the fight against addiction and preserving youth. The present government is actively working to protect and promote the culture and heritage of various indigenous communities in the state, he added. “Culture is the identity of any community. No culture should be allowed to disappear,” he said, calling on all culture-loving citizens to extend their support. Addressing the gathering, MLA Philip Kumar Reang remarked that although modernity has touched every corner of society, age-old traditions must not be forgotten.
“We must hold on to our culture and fight against all forms of distortion and cultural degradation,” he asserted. Dignitaries present at the event included MLA Pramod Reang, ADC Executive Member Bhabaranjan Reang, Executive Member Dolly Reang, MDC Shailendra Nath, MDC Bhumikananda Reang, and former Minister Premkumar Reang.
The welcome address was delivered by Shantirai Reang, President of Bru Socio Organization, while Rajendra Reang, Chief of Urichhara Reang Society Para, chaired the event. Traditional cultural performances by the indigenous communities were also showcased during the program.
