Tripura, 11 April 2025: The 8th State-Level Sangrai Festival is set to be celebrated on April 16 and 17 at the premises of Debdaru Mahamuni Buddha Vihar in Santirbazar subdivision, Tripura. The festival will be inaugurated at 5 PM by Buddhist spiritual leader Dr. Dhammapia. Cooperation Minister Sukla Charan Noatia will attend the event as the chief guest.
Other dignitaries expected to be present include MLAs Promod Reang and Mailafru Mog, MDCs Kongjung Mog and Sanjeeb Reang, Chairman of Jolaibari BAC Ashok Mog, Chairman of Jolaibari Panchayat Samiti Tapas Dutta, and Buddhist monk Warend Mahathero. The inaugural session will be presided over by Rajkumar Mog, President of the Baikhora Mog Socio-Cultural Organisation.
A preparatory meeting for the festival was held at the Santirbazar Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office, attended by MLA Mailafru Mog, MDC Kongjung Mog, SDM Manoj Kumar Saha, and officials from various government departments.
Multiple state government departments will set up exhibition stalls at the festival venue. The Department of Information and Cultural Affairs will also organise a two-day cultural programme as part of the celebrations.
