Grand Celebration Marks Garia Academy’s 22nd Annual Day
Killa, Jan 30, 2025 (Atharabola) Yesterday, Garia Academy (Model) celebrated its 22nd Annual day program with great enthusiasm and pomp. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Purna Chandra Jamatia, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), who attended as the Guest of Honour.
Other distinguished guests included Datta Mohan Jamatia, Legal Advisor, Tripura High Court; MLA Rampada Jamatia; Chairman and Principal of School of Science Coaching Centre; Two Hoda Okra of Jamatia Hoda community; and Panchai ( representatives) from 18 Moial. The school also invited the principal of Brilliant Star English Medium School, Udaipur.
The program commenced with a traditional welcome ceremony, where guests were greeted with risha and flower bouquets, followed by a prayer song to Lord Baba Garia. The lighting of the lamp marked the official beginning of the event.
An exhibition showcasing the students’ Talents and achievements was inaugurated, followed by a welcome speech and introductory speech by the President of Baba Garia Mission. The audience was then treated to a captivating performance of the traditional Garia dance.
The principal of the school presented an annual report, highlighting the institution’s achievements and progress over the past year. CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia, distributed prizes to students who excelled in academics, and inaugurated the school’s new magazine for 2025.
The Chairman of the School of Science Coaching Centre delivered a powerful speech, emphasizing the importance of hard work and dedication. He urged the students to adopt a disciplined approach to their studies, saying, “When the whole world sleeps, you should study.”
Datta Mohan Jamatia, in his address, praised the multi-talented Jamatia community, encouraging them to excel in various fields and make a positive impact on society. MLA Ram Pada Jamatia shared valuable insights on how to develop and maintain the school’s standards, stressing the importance of timely actions and overcoming laziness to achieve success.
The event concluded with a vibrant cultural program, showcasing the talents of the students. Garia Academy Model School was established 22 years ago by the Jamatia community with the sole objective of providing education to its children. The school operates on monthly contributions from the community, with everyone involved working tirelessly to nurture and develop the institution.
The event also saw the presence of Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Minister, Bikash Debbarma, who expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the warm welcome. He said, “With a heartfelt welcome, I am truly happy,” conveying his gratitude for the hospitality and enthusiasm shown by the attendees.
